SELENITE STEPPES SURVEYOR BENCHMARK · WCAG 2.2 LEVEL AA

Accessibility Statement

MoonQuarry is engineered so every visitor can explore our independent UK browser game guide with clarity, high-contrast daylight legibility, full keyboard control, and zero unexpected motion.

Standard Target: WCAG 2.2 Level AA Statement Date: Facts Checked:

1. Our WCAG 2.2 AA Commitment & Daylight Palette

Just as Chief Surveyor Muna Korr calibrates every brass sight-ring and marble block along the high causeways of High Lyrion, MoonQuarry (moonquarry.pro) is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Rather than hiding text behind smoky dark-mode overlays or low-contrast translucent glass, our pages are constructed as an open-air quarry in full daylight. Every geological stratum pairs painted stone surfaces with solid, high-contrast ink:

  • Minimum Text Size: Every piece of copy on the site—including compact per-game facts strips, publisher bylines, and legal footnotes—renders at a minimum of 12px (0.75rem), while body prose reads at 16px (1rem) and scales smoothly up to 200% browser zoom without horizontal scrolling.
  • Zero Milky Scrims over Artwork: Game covers and world illustrations appear at 100% painted strength inside bevelled marble frames, while headings and descriptions sit on dedicated stone chambers or high-contrast obsidian-and-brass plaques.
  • Clear Per-Game Facts & Official Links: Every featured browser game presents its verified publisher facts (price, in-game purchases, adverts, account requirements, and chat) in a semantic description list right above a clearly labelled official link.

SECOND QUARRY TIER · MECHANICAL & ASSISTIVE STANDARDS

Silent Hero Video, Reduced Motion & Keyboard Control

Every interactive mechanism on MoonQuarry is built with native HTML elements so assistive technologies, switch devices, and keyboard-only navigators encounter zero traps.

2. Silent Pauseable Hero Video & Static Fallback

The opening loggia on our home page features an ambient animation of Quarrox the Astral Cleaver and Chief Surveyor Muna Korr beneath the ringed gas giant. To prevent sensory overload or distraction:

  • Strictly Silent: The video contains no audio track and will never play sound.
  • Accessible Pause / Play Button: A dedicated, keyboard-focusable control (.mq-hero-toggle) in the top-right corner of the hero stage allows any visitor to pause or resume the video at any time, updating its aria-pressed state and visible label immediately.
  • Automatic Reduced-Motion Fallback: When your operating system or browser has prefers-reduced-motion: reduce enabled, the video does not autoplay; MoonQuarry automatically displays the high-resolution static key art still instead, and disables smooth-scroll and hover transitions across the entire stylesheet.

3. Keyboard Navigation & Visible Focus

You can traverse every quarry tier, expandable surveyor plate, and external game link using only a keyboard (Tab, Shift + Tab, Enter, and Space):

  • Skip Link: Pressing Tab on page load reveals a high-contrast “Skip to quarry tiers” link in the top-left corner that jumps straight to <main id="main">.
  • High-Contrast Focus Ring: Every interactive link, button, and <summary> toggle displays a prominent 3px burnished-gold outline (#F7CD72) paired with a dark obsidian halo so focus is unmistakable on marble, cobalt, or travertine stone.
  • No JavaScript Dependency: Mobile navigation menus, per-game source disclosures (.mq-facts-more), and surveyor panorama plates use native HTML <details> and <summary> elements that work reliably even with JavaScript switched off.

4. Screen Readers & Semantic Landmarks

Our code follows a strict single-<h1> heading outline and landmark structure (<header>, <nav> with distinct aria-label attributes, <main>, <section>, and <footer>):

  • Descriptive Alt Text: Every game cover, character portrait, and panoramic scene includes detailed alternative text describing the painted action, while purely decorative brass astrolabes, crane girders, and stone buttresses are marked with alt="" and aria-hidden="true".
  • External Link Announcements: Every button leading to a game’s official site includes a screen-reader note announcing that it opens an external website in a new tab.
  • Original Art Disclosure: All artwork, characters and video on this site are original to MoonQuarry: our own interpretations, not screenshots, footage or art from the games we feature.

Architectural Stability from First Paint: Every image container reserves its exact aspect ratio before assets load, preventing layout shifts while reading or tabbing.

Note on third-party games: MoonQuarry is an independent guide. Once you follow a “Play on Official Site” link to an external browser game, that game’s controls, audio, and interface are managed by its respective publisher. Our game guides are based on information published by each game's developer or publisher and on official store pages, checked on 26 October 2026. We don't score or rate games.
